The Micro-needling Facial

Micro-needling with EGF/Stem Cell Therapy

Transform your skin with a medical grade microneedling facial using our signature spa skin revitalizing serum cocktail. Micro-needling is an alternative method to laser skin resurfacing that rejuvenates and restores a youthful appearance to aging and sun damaged skin. This technique is particularly well suited for individuals with darker skin tones who may be less than ideal candidates for traditional laser skin resurfacing. At Regenesis, Dr Hudson uses the Dermapen®, an FDAapproved device to perform Micro-needling. Micro-needling is an excellent augment to chemical peels, IPL, microdermabrasion, and laser skin tightening. Although principally used for facial rejuvenation, Micro-needling can be performed on any surface of the body, including the neck, chest, arms, legs, and abdomen. Unlike many other skin resurfacing techniques, Micro-needling is considered safe and effective for use on all skin types and skin tones (Fitzpatrick I-VI) in both men and women.

How it works

Also referred to as Collagen Induction Therapy (CIT), Micro-needling creates microscopic injuries within the dermis which stimulate the body’s own innate wound healing and produces a thickening of the skin by up to eighty percent. Micro-needling induces the body’s natural wound healing response and triggers it to form new layers of tissue packed with elastin and collagen fibers. The formation of new capillaries ensures improved blood circulation and supply in the area being treated. In addition to stimulating collagen, the microneedles create channels whereby topical skin gels and serums can more effectively be absorbed through the skin’s top layer maximizing their clinical effectiveness.

Micro-needling penetrates superficially into your skin causing the release of plasma from your skin cells, which ignites collagen synthesis. While microneedling triggers natural collagen production, combining this treatment with nourishing skin serums provides augmented results. One of the many benefits of microneedling is that it also improves the absorption and penetration of skincare products and nutrients as these enter the skin through the micro-channels created by the microneedling device.

Here at Regenesis, our signature medical grade skin serum cocktail contains hyaluronic acid, antioxidants, tranzemic acid, niacinamide, copper peptide, and epidermal growth factor is used to perform the micro-needling facial. Using a serum shortens the treatment’s healing time and allows the microneedling device to run smoothly and easily over the skin. The penetration and absorption of skin-enhancing serums and ingredients into the superficial layer of skin further stimulates collagen and elastin production and provides a wide array of skin benefits which include smoothing of fine lines and wrinkles, improved skin texture and elasticity, a brighter skin tone, and the improved appearance of acne scarring. Once the treatment is completed, Dr Hudson applies a healing topical serum through the open channels to restore balance to your skin. Clients experience a normal wound healing response to the treated area, as skin is completely recovered in between two to five days, depending on the depth of your procedure. All you need to do is enjoy the fabulous results. The effects tend to last up to a year or more, depending on your skin type, lifestyle, and skin care regimen.

You can expect to experience minor discomfort during your treatment. A  topical numbing cream is applied 30 minutes before beginning treatment  to minimize patient discomfort. After the treatment, skin may appear red  like a mild sunburn and feel warm, rough or tight during the first 3 to 7  days following treatment. It is important to strictly follow the  recommended post care instructions to ensure optimal results.

The treatment begins by applying a topical numbing cream to the  intended treatment area. This area should be clean and free of make-up.  The topical numbing cream is left in place for thirty minutes. Dr Hudson  then uses the Dermapen® device to perform the treatment Oscillating  microneedles pulse up and down creating small channels within the skin.  Dr Hudson is able to vary the depth of the needles during treatment.  Longer needles penetrate deeper into your skin, which might be  necessary if deep scars from acne are present. Needle lengths can range  from 0.5 mm to 2mm. A microneedling treatment at Regenesis requires  approximately 20 to 30 minutes to perform depending on the surface  areas being treated.

You should expect minor redness and irritation for a few days after the  procedure. Your skin will appear plump, pink, and more luminous for  several weeks following treatment. Be sure to avoid sun exposure and

retinoid use for a period of seven days before and after your treatment. If  micro-needling therapy is performed on the face, it is advised to avoid  wearing make-up for the first twelve hours following the procedure.  Ideal micro-needling regimens consist of four to six treatments performed  between four to six weeks apart.

Although the number of sessions can vary, most people require between  3 to 6 sessions to ensure optimal results. You’ll need at least 3 treatment  sessions for collagen induction. If you have deeper pockmarks or  scarring, you may require 3-6 treatment sessions, scheduled several 4-6  weeks apart, to fully fill in and restore your skin.
