Intimate Skin lightening is a process of lightening and brightening hyperpigmented or darkened skin in intimate areas to create an even and more uniform skin tone that is more cohesive with other areas of the body. Men and women are often subconscious about the discoloration involving their intimate areas. Although discolorations are completely normal, many people prefer to lighten these areas so that it matches the rest of their skin tone. Darkened areas of skin result from the accumulation of dead skin cells and overproduction of melanin within the top layers of the skin. Melanin is the pigment responsible for the color of skin. While some people are naturally born with darker areas of skin involving their intimate areas, hyperpigmentation can be exacerbated by other factors such as the natural process of aging, hormonal changes, weight gain, pregnancy, infections, and several chronic medical conditions. Excess heat, inflammation, or friction against the skin can also cause areas of the skin to darken. On the vulva, it is chiefly caused by hair removal products, friction, and folliculitis. Depilatory creams like Veet and Nair are the most damaging and hyperpigmenting to skin. While these are indicated for use in the vaginal area, these products remove hair by breaking down keratin which is also the main protein in skin. In addition, ingrown hairs cause inflammation that create dark spots especially after improper extractions.
How it works
At Regenesis, Dr Hudson uses a combination approach to lighten and brighten intimate skin areas safely and effectively. Treatment consists of pico laser, Infared light, and topical skin lightening treatments. Our topical exfoliating skin facials are performed using all natural brightening ingredients, none of which contain bleach, chlorine, or hydroquinone-all of which are harmful to the skin. Just a few treatments can help remove and fade darker skin affecting intimate skin areas.
Treatment begins with prepping and cleansing of the skin area using a Hibiclens scrub. Once dried, Dr Hudson applies the pink intimate exfoliating skin serum to instantly brighten the top layers of your skin. The Pink Serum contains botanicals, fruit extracts, glutathione, and mild acids and skin nutrients which quickly penetrate into the skin to help block the formation of excess melanin in new skin cells. This is followed by a red LED light treatment which opens skin pores to augment the penetration of active ingredients into the skin. The whole procedure is gentle, nonabrasive, and pain-free. The procedure is completed with a Pico laser treatment of the treated area.

Our three step in-office lightening skin treatment takes about 30 to 45 minutes to perform. Our skin brightening treatment is a gentle, painless, safe, non-invasive, and non-abrasive. After your treatment, you may experience some minor redness or swelling in the treated area. Most side effects resolve within 24-48 hours. Most patients will notice the results of skin one to two shades lighter immediately after the first treatment. That progress will improve with additional treatments. One treatment is usually not enough. For maximal results, remain on a consistent regimen and wear sunscreen on intimate areas that may be exposed to the sun. Results will vary over time depending on the level of melanin in your skin and your individual skin tone since everyone lightens at different rates.
Typically, lightening of these areas becomes apparent within the first two weeks of the initial treatment. Because skin cellular turnover rate is approximately thirty days, some time is required for the pigment to lift. Intimate lightening is a gradual process that usually requires several sessions to reach a desired level of skin lightening.
Skin lightening treatments can be performed on almost all areas of the body on both men and women. Treatments are most frequently performed on the following areas:
• Vagina (labia majora)
• Anal area
• Perineal area
• Bikini area
• Penile area
• Underarms
• Areola and Nipples
• Inner thighs
• Underarms
• Knees
• Elbows
• Hands
• Any other external body area
This treatment may also be used to lighten dark areas, scars or burn marks anywhere on the body. Treatments also help in the prevention and relief of blemishes, ingrown hairs, in addition to rejuvenating the skin.
The treatment process and ingredients used are completely safe. The ingredients in the Pink Serum are naturally derived botanical compounds that contain Monochloroacetic acid stabilized with urea peroxide, Chamomile extract, B-resorcinol, Glutathione, enhanced Kojic acid, Bisabolol, and glycyrrhetinic acid. Our advanced, non-irritating botanical formula is free of hydroquinone, chlorine, and other harsh chemicals and is exclusively formulated for treatment of intimate skin areas including anal, vaginal area, underarms, nipples, inner thighs and genital areas.
You can resume normal activities immediately following treatment. For 48 hours after your intimate skin treatment, you should avoid intercourse, washing the treated area (bathing, showering), or intense exercise that could cause friction. In the first two weeks following your appointment, you will need to keep the treated area moisturized, wear loose-fitting undergarments, and avoid exposure to direct sunlight.
Intimate skin brightening system is safe and effective for all skin types, Fitzpatrick I-VI including those with sensitive skin. Clients that frequently exercise, experience friction or chaffing on their intimate area, or have recently given birth often have skin that has darkened over time. Clients that have scars due to shaving, ingrown hairs or acne also can have darkening that can effectively be treated with Intimate Skin Lightening. Pregnant women, breastfeeding women, and those with a history of certain STDs are not eligible for this treatment. Any risks and limitations will be addressed during your consultation.
The number of required treatment sessions will depend on your skin tone, and how much lighter you wish to fade. You should see a lightening effect of at least 2-3 shades following the first treatment. However, it is important to realize that individual results do vary. Most patients achieve their desired results after 4 to 5 treatment sessions. Between three to six treatments are recommended. Depending on your melanin depth, you may need additional treatments, and over time, you can expect to lighten up to six shades with consecutive treatments.
The answer is no. Any client male or female, who is unhappy with the appearance of his or her skin is a candidate for an intimate lightening treatment
Anal and vaginal skin lightening is one of the hottest skincare trends today. However, many over the counter treatments contain harsh chemicals such as hydroquinone, or even mercury that can burn and irritate the skin. Our treatment is not a bleach, but an original product that has been specifically formulated and tested for use on sensitive areas of intimate skin.
A minimum of three weeks is recommended between treatments for optimal results.
It is difficult to predict how long the results will last. Often our bodies develop hormonal imbalance or hormonal changes. Should that occur, the pigmentation can come back. However, our treatment is known to produce long-lasting results. Once you have completed the process, keeping your skin hydrated and getting one treatment every four to six months is effective at preventing new pigmentation and for maintaining your results.
